• YOUR ACCOMMODATION

"In every way, Cliff Cottage, Kilkee provides a special treat for the senses –offering a unique blend of old and new" ...

A COTTAGE WITH A STORY

“It’s no coincidence that the cottage’s history and location are synonymous with relaxation and rejuvenation. The cottage is built on a site that, in the late 1830s and 1840s, was occupied by hot baths. These were fed by water pumped from the sea, offering a natural therapy to visitors from afar.”

CLASSICALLY CHARMING

The cottage has been lovingly restored and the charm and classic styling of the original building now blends perfectly with the modern openness, elegant décor and full amenities of the newly-added extension.

STYLISH LIVING SPACE BY DAY…

Relax and revive in your comfortable living area with restful, wood-burning stove

The open-plan extension is filled with natural light and designed to ‘bring the outside in’ with seascape views that surround you.

A spacious dining area with large table to seat 8 invites you to dine with the sea as your dramatic backdrop.

Wall-to-wall sliding doors open on to your own cliff top patio with patio furniture and gas barbeque.  Dine al fresco to the sound of the waves below or breakfast as you relax and watch life out on the water.

Relax and revive in your comfortable living area with restful, wood-burning stove.

The kitchen is modern, streamlined and fully-equipped with gas/electric range cooker, larder fridge, dishwasher, freezer and microwave.

A utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and large hot press.

Toilet and Shower Room with both electric and mains shower units and a large Belfast sink.

… COCOONED COMFORT BY NIGHT

“There’s simply no better way to fall asleep than to listen to the crashing waves below and the cries of seabirds above.”

Such a relaxing stay in a most beautifully restored period cottage on the water’s edge. Every comfort, beautiful views and Mary could not have been more attentive and accommodating. Looking forward to returning again sometime again in the future.

This is my 3rd stay at Cliff Cottage, so good I keep coming back! My family and I love this property, the views are exceptional, the quality of the  accommodation is second to none. Mary has thought of absolutely every need one could have. Booking and subsequent communication was easy and very efficient. Looking forward to our next visit!!

Enjoyed a very relaxing week in Cliff Cottage Kilkee. Beautifully appointed with incredible sea views from all the rooms. Very comfortable, clean and
stylish. Everything that one would want was provided and more. Lots of books to read and board games to play. A gorgeous warm stove for the
chillier evenings. Hot water whenever we needed it. So close to the beach that you could walk down in your swimwear. Would definitely recommend.

A truly amazing house with views that cannot be believed. Having spent many fun family vacations in Kilkee as a child I wanted to bring my husband to see it for himself. Mary was very understanding when it took much longer than planned to arrive due to confusing roads etc. From the outside the cottage looks like nothing special but once inside you are immediately blown away by the beauty of the Atlantic right in front of you and the impressive decor and design of the cottage.

Understated, but with every comfort you need. Well stocked in respect to kitchenware/towels/outdoor furniture etc. Mary kindly left a bottle of wine to welcome us. After a quick tour of the house explaining a few quirks like how the locks worked we were left to enjoy the next few days. The weather we experienced was unusually nice so we were lucky. Kilkee not yet open for season so not too many dining options so was nice to be able to eat at house. Great location for discovering nearby spots like Cliffs of Moher on day trips. Easy walking distance to centre of town. Will be back.

It’s rare to get the perfect combination of magical location, pitch-perfect renovated accommodations, and gracious and attentive host. This is it. We would have stayed a month just watching the tides roll in and out from that glorious deck and living room if we could have. Alas, we had to leave. Americans, shutting off plugs will be a new experience and one that makes so much sense. All tea kettles will feel slow after this one. And I bet your next Airbnb won’t furnish booties in a variety of sizes. Sigh. Mary’s cottage is The Best.
